Your hands and skin are going to need special care this year!

It flu and cold season...along with this is the craze of hand sanitizer and cold weather. Those who use a ton of hand sanitizer trying not to get sick, get dry chapped hands. Everyone uses hand sanitizer all the time, they are everywhere in public, at the front desk of spas and many retail stores. My studio is no exception, I have one for myself. I not only wash my hands before every service, but also sanitize them on top of that. My skin is no different than any of yours after doing both of these routines several times a day, they are dry and chapped.

Hand sanitizer is typically contained of at least 60% alcohol, they strip of hands of natural oils and dry out your skin...You are going to need some good hand skin care tips and tricks to make it through the cold and flu season without dry, itchy chapped hands.

For all you Hand Sanitizer Users:
  1. Put hand sanitizer on your palms side of your hands only and use this to touch everything, but your face, mouth and eyes, use the back side of your hands to touch these areas, and do not put hand sanitizer on this side.
  2. Take good care of your skin in between hand sanitizer, such has use mild soaps when washing and a good moisturizer immediately after drying hands.
  3. Put a heavy hand cream on your hands prior to going to bed. This will heal all chapped and dry skin while you are sleeping.
