The Meaning of Christmas

The true meaning of Christmas isn't about Santa Claus, or what gifts you are going to receive. It is all about the Gift of Giving. Sometimes we need to be reminded of just how blessed many of us are, especially this time of year when there are some out there who won't wake up to find that special gift they asked for. We must remember those who are less fortunate than we are. Hundreds of years before Christ, several other festivals were held in different parts of the world. These celebrations seemed to all occur at some point during the winter solstice, the time at which the ear makes its shortest journey around the sun.

Shopping Madness

Thanksgiving is over and now everyone is running around to try to get the best deals and savings for their Christmas shopping. Everyone knows that Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is considered the biggest shopping day for retailers, but is also the beginning the Christmas shopping season. It is also been recorded that it is the largest spending day of the year. Because most companies have considered the day after Thanksgiving a holiday, this causes for more shoppers out there to spend their money.

The first Monday in September is celebrated nationally as Labor Day, which is the creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
