Makeup Tips

There are a lot of tips that I can give, but as mentioned in my previous blog, there is general information or teaching and specific information or teaching. What do I mean by this, according to Webster Dictionary....relating to or affecting all people or things in a group; relating to the main or major parts of something rather than the details – not specific.

Again, we are not clones. We need specific instructions and teachings for our eye color, eye shape, as well as our face shape. If you are looking for this specific tips and tricks, contact a professionally certified and trained makeup artists, like myself, and book your appointment to have a lesson. This also goes for the how to properly contour and highlight your for your face shape.

Generally speaking, some tips on the order of how you should be applying your makeup. First start with a good base. Depending on what kind of coverage you like, whether sheer or full coverage, your base is either a tinted moisturizer or a foundation. Once you have your tinted moisturizer or foundation done, you are now ready to apply your eye shadow. Depending on what type of look you are achieving, depends on how many colors are used. Then you will want to line your eyes, again depends on your look you want to achieve, depends on how you apply the line as well as color used. Lastly for the eyes in mascara, if desired.

You will then add your blush and any light contouring. Depending on the occasion, lipstick, lip liner, and/or lip gloss will be applied. My biggest tip that I can give, do not be afraid to try and play with colors. Go to Sephora or Ulta and try before you buy. I will caution you, make sure that you are always using a new disposable applicator before putting it back in the color. If it is a cream based product, I will advise you to not try them in the store – they are known to harbor bacteria vs. the powders.

To sum up, there is no shortage of makeup tips and advice these days. Everywhere you look or magazine your pick up, they are passing out advice on all the do’s and don’ts of makeup application. In reality, there are tons of makeup tips and tricks, but what we all need is specifics of “ME” and I am happy to help you with that by scheduling an appointment for a one on one lesson. Today, when you look around, you will see the unique things people are doing to help promote awareness of this disease and the efforts to find a cure. Role Models

November is National Inspirational Role Models Month . No matter your age, gender, or stage in file, having someone who inspires you to be the best version of yourself is always a positive thing. Perhaps it is a friend, a celebrity or an activist. Whether the person is high-profile or not isn’t important. Their character and ability to inspire, guide, and teach carries much more value. This month let’s focus on the person who motivates you and thank them for their leadership. I would like you to share who inspires you? I’ve mentioned some of the characteristics of a role model, but let’s go into more detail. A  role model  is a person other people look up to in order to help determine appropriate behaviors.  Role models  can be either positive or negative. ...
