The Difference Between BB, CC, and DD Creams - Part 3 of 4

CC CREAMS:

The difference between BB and CC creams are subtle. CC generally stands for “color correcting” and the products are meant to address issues like redness or sallowness (usually with light-diffusing particles), where BB creams are like lighter foundation with a few skin care benefits thrown in. CC creams are a variation on the BB cream to separate their products from the glut of options out there. CC creams generally provide more coverage than BB creams but not always, and are pitched as being formulas that can cover flaws as well as provide skin benefits, but they don’t always do that. CC creams are more of a whipped, light, fluffy feel and finish, kind of a new and improved BB cream.

Where BB and CC creams get most confusing is the benefits and coverage, which vary greatly between different brands. You would have to be diligent in reading the ingredients and most importantly, trying them out to figure which is best for your of what you want to do. Truth, is a great liquid or cream foundation should provide the same color correction and many foundations have skin beneficial ingredients, too!

DD CREAMS:

DD creams are the latest hybrid to skincare and makeup products to hit the market, and there aren’t a lot of them out there…yet! DD stands for “Daily Defense” or “Dynamic Do-All”, depending on which company is selling the product. DD creams are a hybrid of BB and CC creams, and are supposed to provide more coverage than BB creams, but with more anti-aging benefits than CC creams. So far there is only one company in the US that is selling DD Creams, though there are companies in the UK that are also using this meaningless acronym.

Come back next week for Part 4, where we cover Foundations and the last of the cheat sheet.

While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same. Aside from skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women today. Today, when you look around, you will see the unique things people are doing to help promote awareness of this disease and the efforts to find a cure. You cannot help be touched by all the different ways professional athletes and coaches are showing their support. From pink shoes, pink sweatbands, and pink ribbon stickers on helmets, it is great to see then all get involved. If you or someone you know is undergoing treatments, GlyMed Plus, the skincare line that I use and carry in my studio, has a program called "Maria's Gift".  Maria's Gift helps breast cancer survivors by donating GlyMed Plus professional pr...

Perhaps it is a friend, a celebrity or an activist. Whether the person is high-profile or not isn’t important. Their character and ability to inspire, guide, and teach carries much more value. This month let’s focus on the person who motivates you and thank them for their leadership. I would like you to share who inspires you? I’ve mentioned some of the characteristics of a role model, but let’s go into more detail. A  role model  is a person other people look up to in order to help determine appropriate behaviors.  Role models  can be either positive or negative. ... Virtually anyone can be a  role model , but in Western culture, publicly visible figures such as athletes, actors, musicians, and celebrities are the most common  examples , which are not always...
