Spring Break Tanning Preparation...

Airbrush tanning is the application self-tanners through a pressure spray gun. Most self-tanners contain DHA (Dihydroxyacetone), which is a colorless sugar derived from the sugar-cane plant and is FDA approved for cosmetic purposes since 1973. DHA reacts with the skins protein and amino acids to brown the skin, looking similar to a natural tan. The tan fades as the dead layers of skin slough off, just as in a normal suntan.

Advantages of Airbrush Tanning
  • It is safe, with no UVA or UVB ray exposure.
  • It is approved by the FDA (as previously mentioned), and is recommended by dermatologists at the Skin Cancer Foundation.
  • Airbrush is quick – takes about 10 minutes from start to finish.
  • Instant tan results – same results as 5 tanning bed sessions or many hours of laying out in the sun, without the UVA/UVB ray exposure.
  • You will have an even, smooth finish that cannot be mimicked by self-tanning lotions. No odor, streaks, or orange appearance.
  • Airbrush tans last up to 10 days.
  • Airbrush solution dries quickly on your body and won’t stain your clothes or bed sheets.
  • You can be tan all year round.
Before your Airbrush Tanning Session
  • Shower, exfoliate, and remove body hair 24 to 8 hours before your tanning appointment. Exfoliating removes the top layer of dead skin cells. If you do not have any exfoliating gloves, sponges, or products, you can add sugar to your normal cleanser.
  • Your skin should be clean and dry before being sprayed. Do not apply any moisturizers, deodorant, antiperspirant, perfume, oils or makeup, as they can affect the tan development.
  • Wear dark loose clothing to your appointment. A bathing suit or undergarments can be worn for your tan, otherwise disposable undergarments will be provided. You may opt out of wearing anything to avoid tan lines.
  • You will not be able to swim, exercise or bathe 3 to 8 hours after your tanning appointment – please plan accordingly.
After Airbrush Tanning Session
  • As previously mentioned, do not swim, exercise or bathe 3 to 8 hours after your tanning appointment. After this time, you can go on as scheduled, but do not exfoliate or use abrasive products.
  • Some of the color may wash off in the shower, this is normal. Pat, do not rub your skin dry.
  • Apply a moisturizer to shower damp skin every day to prolong your tan.
  • Avoid exfoliating skin until right before your next tanning session.

While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same. Aside from skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women today. Today, when you look around, you will see the unique things people are doing to help promote awareness of this disease and the efforts to find a cure. Role Models

November is National Inspirational Role Models Month . No matter your age, gender, or stage in file, having someone who inspires you to be the best version of yourself is always a positive thing. Perhaps it is a friend, a celebrity or an activist. Whether the person is high-profile or not isn’t important. Their character and ability to inspire, guide, and teach carries much more value. This month let’s focus on the person who motivates you and thank them for their leadership. I would like you to share who inspires you? I’ve mentioned some of the characteristics of a role model, but let’s go into more detail. A  role model  is a person other people look up to in order to help determine appropriate behaviors.  Role models  can be either positive or negative. ... Virtually anyone can be a  role model , but in Western culture, publicly visible figures such as athletes, actors, musicians, and celebrities are the most common  examples , which are not always...
