Is Your Body Ready for Spring Break?

Spring is in the air, with the snow melting from the warmer temperatures. Time for vacations with our families and relaxing days by the pools. But wait! When it comes to prepping for Spring Break, I am a big advocate of spray tans, waxing, and hydrating. As colder weather starts to die off and the warmer temperatures come, your skin will go through changes as well. During the winter weather, you will notice your skin and scalp are drier. Oils are not only great for baths and for soft skin, but are also amazing for your hair and scalp. The oils promote a healthy scalp, which in turn, gives you fast growing, shiny hair!

Is Your Skin and Body Spring Break Ready?

Spring is in the air! The days are getting longer, our coats are soon going to be lighter, and before we know it, we will be trading in heavy sweaters for sunglasses and swimsuits. For those of us who are lucky to live in a place where the weather is getting warmer, you are already ready to throw off those boots and leggings and grab some sandals and sundress. Even those of us who have to endure colder temperatures for a few more weeks, we are feeling the itch to break free from our sweaters and show some skin!  Let us face it, during winter, we pledge to find the thickest, richest body butter, and promise to give our skin some TLC. But underneath the tights, corduroys, hats, sweaters, and scarves, we often neglect our skin, not giving it the moisture or attention it deserves.

Fall In Love With Your Skin

Forget about tanning beds, bleaching, and heavy makeup. Learn to love the natural skin by following these tips, by treating it right every day. STOP THE TANNING BEDS Learn to love the skin you are in - no matter how light it may be. Even the palest skin can be beautiful. Tanning beds lead to premature aging, wrinkles, and even skin cancer. DON'T LIGHTEN UP On the flip side, some women with dark complexions feel the need to try to lighten their skin. Beautiful skin comes in every shade. Embrace the skin color with which you were blessed.

Chocolate & Oxygen is Good for the Skin

As previously mentioned a couple of blogs ago, I mentioned that dark chocolate was medicine in so many ways, of which it helps reduce roughness in the skin and protects against sun damage. Do you remember why?  Because it contains flavonoids, an antioxidant. Forget the old wives tale that chocolate causes spots, and contrary to popular belief, chocolate alone doesn't cause blemishes. Chocolate has been used as part of facials, wraps, and pedicures for years. The cocoa bean's fibrous coating is a whizz at breaking down free radicals, giving creams containing the extract anti-oxidant and anti-aging properties. Before you consider the mood-boosting properties of chocolate - just the smell can make the brain release endorphins into your system.
